Music is an essential part of the ministry and mission at Fairmount. To learn more about our choirs and how you and/or your children can participate in the music ministry of Fairmount, please call the church office.
Youth Choir - This year FPC youth in Grades 1-8 interested in participating in choir will be meeting as a unified choir called “Crescendo Choir” - meaning “a progressive increase." The choir will meet on Thursday evenings from 5:20-6:30 in the dining room. Dinner will be served at 5:20 with a rehearsal beginning at 5:45. Crescendo Choir will begin on Thursday, September 7 in order to be prepared for our first sharing on October 1st. The choir is open all year long. Barbara Lang is the director.
Fairmount Choir (adult) - The Fairmount Choir is open to singers in high school and older, providing musical leadership in the 11am Sunday worship service from September through May. The Choir normally presents two large choral works a year, usually with chamber orchestra. The Choir also provides music for special services in the Advent and Lenten seasons. The Choir rehearses twice a week: on Thursday nights from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and on Sunday mornings from 10:10 to 10:30 am. Auditions are not required, and new members are always welcome. The Handbell Choir - The handbell choir provides beautiful handbell music at regular and special services during the year. They rehearse Sunday mornings at 9 am. The handbell choir director is Amy Carlson.
